Priest not afraid of hard work in mission to spread Gospel

We have all heard the expression, as poor as a church mouse, but it may now have to be rewritten to read, as poor as a Ballymena priest.

Fr Cornelius Clepea, a Romanian Orthodox clergyman who ministers to a tiny flock of just 20 of his fellow countrymen and women in the town, has to work as a cleaner in an abattoir to make ends meet. He relies on the local Catholic parish for a venue for his ministry and for his own accommodation.

This is truly an inspiring story of a priest prepared to undergo personal privation to spread his particular Christian message. God, it seems, really does work in mysterious ways.
