Priesthood a good match for ex-footballer Mulryne

Philip Mulryne's life today could not be further from his career as a Premier League footballer. The former Manchester United and Northern Ireland midfielder is now just one step away from becoming a priest in the Dominican Order.

He is expected to take his final vows next year.

It has been a remarkable journey for a man who tasted the high life of a professional player and who was used to the adoration of fans. Like many in his position he may have erred on occasion in the past, but now life in the Order will be much more thoughtful.

All members are supposed to search for wisdom. God indeed works in mysterious ways.
