Prince George: The bonny Royal baby worth a thousand State visits

He may be only eight months old but Prince George is already proving to be a diplomatic star.

He has been the main point of interest during the visit to Australia by his dad and mum, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.

Their more informal, modern approach to engagements goes down well Down Under and it comes at a time when republican sympathies in the country are at their lowest for many years.

Given the universal appeal of bonny babies, perhaps Prince George should be brought around the Commonwealth to ensure its continuation. He certainly would stir more hearts than any number of stiff, formal State visits.
