Reaction to cruel act shows many still have puppy love

Can you offer a loving home to one of eight beautiful puppies who narrowly cheated death? They were found in a cardboard box on a riverbank in Tyrone. It is believed someone intended to drown the young pups but then didn't go through with it.

At six weeks they are still too young to be rehomed, but the animal sanctuary where they were brought will need to move them on eventually to new, caring owners. Already there have been expressions of interest following publication of the puppies' story on our website, showing that there are many people out there who really do believe that a dog is man's - and woman's - best friend.
