Remarkable Melanie is a first-class inspiration to us all
Melanie Grimsley is an inspiring young woman. Extensively burned as a toddler in a car fire that killed her sister, she has endured countless operations, hand reconstructions and skin grafts. Yet there is no room for self-pity in her life.
The mother-of-two is soon to begin work as an apprentice lawyer - a career choice partly motivated by her legal battle for compensation, but also because she wants to help others. Studying for her degree was tremendously taxing, involving lengthy journeys to university and back three days a week to enable her to be with her children every night. But the strength of will that enabled her to overcome her trauma helped her graduate with first-class honours. She truly is a remarkable woman.
