Rescuers of injured fox deserve a pat on the back
Northern Ireland people's famed generosity of spirit extends not just to visitors but also, in many cases, to the animal kingdom.
Our story on the couple and the vet who rescued an injured fox on the north coast and then treated its wounds shows the empathy some people have with animals in distress.
The fox was found by chance, and it would have been easy for the couple to walk away, but they persevered until they found a vet willing to help. It is still unclear if it will make a full recovery, but at least it has been given a fighting chance.
This is a heartwarming story in an often cruel world and those involved deserve praise for their actions.
