Road racer Stephen shows us the true meaning of courage
Bike racer Stephen Thompson is a fighter. The multitude of injuries he suffered after crashing at the North West 200 last year would have killed a lesser man, but thanks to the skill of the medical teams treating him, the support of family and friends and his own spirit, he pulled through.
He had part of an arm amputated and had to learn to walk again, and now has gone back to the scene of the accident. Perhaps it was his way of putting to bed any remaining demons about the blackest day in his life. It must have taken considerable courage, but that is something that road racers have in spades, even if we lesser mortals regard it as madness.
