Rolling Stones still rockin' at 50

They have defied the ravages of time and a hedonistic lifestyle to remain the icons of rock. Fifty years after playing their first gig, The Rolling Stones, now in their 60s and 70s, are still a major brand in a world where stardom can now often be measured in months rather than decades.

The Stones didn't just play rock and roll, they defined it, spawning countless imitators and influencing many other major stars. They were the bad boys of the pop world but now they are the old boys, with wrinkled countenances that would not look out of place on Mount Rushmore. They've certainly carved their own indelible niche in the music industry.
