Rory proves once again that class is permanent
After six months without a victory, Rory McIlroy must have had a few nagging doubts, even if he remained upbeat. But yesterday he proved just why he was once ranked the best player in the world and is still in the top three, and why he still can produce golf shots without equal.
Sport is all about winning and his victory at the Irish Open - where he has flopped previously - will do wonders for his confidence in a year that still has three Majors and the Ryder Cup to play for.
It is good to see him prove his doubters wrong and he has shown the old adage is true - form is temporary, but class is permanent.
