It may have taken just over a couple of centuries, but Belfast's Linen Hall Library has certainly turned over a new leaf in style.

Now, for the first time in its history, it has a female librarian, Samantha McCombe, and an all-female senior executive team.

Samantha has a career steeped in librarianship in academic, legal and political environments and has all the credentials to ensure that the Linen Hall's priceless collections, including its unique political records which give a fascinating insight into the period of the Troubles, will be safely preserved and added to.

She has already added her own note to the history of the institution.
