Sculptor appreciated by David Bowie worthy of recognition
Great talent is recognised everywhere, and this applies to the works of the celebrated Banbridge-born sculptor FE McWilliam.
It has been revealed that three of his sculptures were owned by the late David Bowie, whose wide-ranging collection of artworks is expected to raise more than £10m at a Sotheby's auction in London next month.
FE McWilliam was so celebrated that he was elected to the Royal Academy, which included such historic painters as Turner, Constable, Gainsborough and Reynolds.
It is also good to see our richly-talented local son still being given the recognition he deserves, by the inclusion of his work in Bowie's unique collection of art.
