Sinn Fein and DUP all at sea over naming of ship
The row at Stormont over the naming of a fisheries protection vessel shows that the two main parties of government, Sinn Fein and the DUP, continue to be hooked on cultural gestures.
The new DUP Agriculture Minister Michelle McIlveen has changed the name of the boat to Queen of Ulster from its Irish name Banríon Uladh, which translates as Queen of Ulster and which was given by a previous Sinn Fein minister.
It seems like a case of making waves for no good reason and no doubt many are all at sea as to why this storm has blown up.
Maybe the politicians hope that baiting each other will net them some extra votes come election time.
