Controversy is never far away when it comes to sporting tops in Northern Ireland. If it is not something that is on the top, then it is something that is left off which causes a row.

Ulster Rugby dropped the ball by not having a poppy on the team shirt for a match played on Remembrance Sunday, even if it does remember the fallen in other significant ways.

Meanwhile, the Irish Football Association has got football fans hot under the collar with the new kit for the Euro 2016 finals. The Green and White Army says there is too much blue on the top. If they had their way, the kit would get the first red card of the tournament.
