Strictly speaking, Susanna has got the X Factor

One of the great television hits is Strictly Come Dancing which has shown more versatility and staying-power than the X Factor, the final of which took place last night but which overall, has lost its shine.

Strictly Come Dancing is show-business at its best, with great music, wonderful costumes and superb performances from amateurs, as well as the professionals. The BBC's Susanna Reid may not be strictly the best dancer but she has come a very long way to reach the final.

She has also shown that a professional television newsreader and mother-of-three can rise to greater heights on the dance floor and also inspire millions by doing so. Whatever happens in the much-awaited finals, she will always be a champion.
