Titanic deserves its place in global attractions shortlist
Tourism chiefs must be rubbing their hands in delight at the inclusion of Titanic Belfast on the shortlist for the world's best visitor attraction.
Even if it doesn't win - and it has a realistic chance of coming out on top - its mere mention in World Travel Awards is priceless in terms of publicity. It is deservedly included, having already brought more than three million visitors from 145 countries through the doors and, of course, it has a tremendous story to tell.
The sinking of the ship, immortalised in James Cameron's film, is the most famous sea tragedy ever. Now the visitor attraction named after it has gained its own global fame.
