Victory can help propel G-Mac back among the elite of golf
The smiles said it all. Golfer Graeme McDowell had that top-of-the-world feeling again after victory in Mexico. He candidly admitted it has been a fairly lean time for him recently which has seen him slip to 85th place in the world rankings.
The euphoria of his 2010 US Open victory had been replaced in recent months with a feeling that perhaps the glory days would never return. Such doubts can really depress an elite sportsperson.
But now Graeme - and Northern Ireland - is making headlines yet again for all the right reasons. Perhaps his success will spur Rory McIlroy to regain his own A-game in the golfing world.
