A most moving message has come from Clodagh Dunlop, a young policewoman who has survived a near-fatal stroke, urging people to take time to appreciate their loved ones.

Clodagh is now spearheading an awareness campaign about 'locked-in syndrome', which left her spending months being unable to communicate with her family, or to move practically any part of her body.

She is demonstrating courage and also a deep thoughtfulness about the things that are really important in our lives.

It behoves all of us to take time to reflect on her wise advice.
