Irish Language Act is a threat to no one
The appointment of Bishop Alan McGuckian to the Diocese of Raphoe marks a remarkable achievement for this family from Cloughmills which has three brothers in the Jesuit priesthood.
Earlier this week Bishop McGuckian - a fluent Irish speaker - expressed his hope that Stormont would pass the Irish Language Act.
His motive was not political, but rather to remind people of a rich part of this island's heritage, North and South. As a Protestant I cannot understand why an Irish Language Act so threatens Stormont.
