A big thank you from the Wirral Wobblers

Published 10/05/2016

Wirral (near Liverpool) Wobblers are a group of retired people/pensioners who ride old, wobbly 50cc mopeds for fun. We have just completed a seven-day tour of Northern Ireland, starting last week (in snow!) in Newtownabbey.

We were also collecting for the international charity Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders). Most of us had never been to Northern Ireland before.

How impressed we were with your beautiful country and genuine, friendly people (other than a slight misunderstanding by the Parking Enforcement Agency, who gave us 17 tickets. Common sense prevailed and we were reprieved).

We collected well over £500 for the charity - more when our sponsors pay up.

And, so, to all the people who made our visit so memorable, many, many thanks.

As Arnie Schwarzenegger said - I will be back.
