A taxing question for Mairtin O Muilleoir

Published 11/07/2016

Mairtin O Muilleoir seems somewhat self-serving with his criticism of the proposed cuts in corporation tax by George Osborne.

While he may not like still being part of the UK, it is the UK which is his paymaster and why shouldn't the Chancellor reduce corporation tax?

Perhaps Mr O Muilleoir will refer us to any criticism he made of the Dublin government when they reduced corporation tax, or to any reference by him of such an action to the EU?

Why doesn't he address the core issue of the corporation tax conundrum; namely, the differential brought about by Dublin, which detrimentally affected Northern Ireland and Great Britain?

Surely, he doesn't approve of double standards?
