A telling silence over Irish tricolours

A NUMBER of areas are festooned with Irish tricolours and other republican insignia. These include major roads and areas around major shopping complexes such as the Abbey Centre.

They do not particularly annoy me. However, I have waited to hear nationalist representatives - usually so vociferous about flags - demand that these are removed from lamp-posts and other shared spaces, where they may intimidate the unionist populace.
