A4 project has been a big success

The new A4 dual carriageway is now open and what a joy it is.

It runs from the Dungannon end of the M1 to the Ballygawley roundabout and is separate from the old single carriageway.

The Roads Service has done us proud, from the planning of an aesthetic route to the implementation of the plan by Lagan/Ferrovial.

It sweeps through beautiful countryside and through some well maintained farming country with the minimum of unnecessary access roads and visual obstruction.

It brings back some of the pleasure of motoring.

It modernises the main arterial connection between the west and east of the province.

Apart from its considerable commercial benefit, it is a scenic route for tourists.

We look forward to more roads like this.
