Advice to the Speaker on cutting costs

I find it extremely strange that with all the talk we hear of cutbacks, police budgets being decimated, special needs teaching in jeopardy and hospitals lacking funds, the Northern Ireland Assembly is advertising for an applicant to work as an adviser to the Speaker, at a salary of between £53,657 and £62,407.

If the Speaker has not got the skills to do the job maybe the MLAs should find someone who has or should employ the adviser as the Speaker and save a lot of money.
