After decade of farce it's time for direct rule
Hilton Cubit (Write Back, March 30) is correct to suggest that it would require at least 10 years of direct rule to clear up the administrative chaos left by the DUP and Sinn Fein.
Indeed, this would have the added bonus of clearing out all the political deadwood which has been allowed to accumulate since the Good Friday Agreement.
It would also seem to be the case that these parties have an arrogant attitude to their respective electorates. They assume they - and only they - have the right to govern Northern Ireland.
Well, after 10 years of absolute, chaotic farce, it is high time we had a change.
They have clearly demonstrated they are both unfit to govern and should be barred from holding office forthwith in perpetuity.
Direct rule makes more sense than overpaid incompetents.
