All murderers must step down
Martin McGuinness has admitted that the murder of Mary Travers was a tragic mistake, but Martin should now go further and admit that all murders carried out by the Provisionals (supported by Sinn Fein) were unjustifiable mistakes and that the entire 30-year campaign of violence was a crassly stupid blunder.
The relatives of Mary Travers are rightly calling for Mary McArdle to step down as adviser. The people of Northern Ireland should call for all murderers who rule over us to step down to be replaced by a new breed of politician without any stain of violence.
If such a minister needs an adviser, the position should be advertised stating the required qualifications. If the murderer Mary McArdle should rightly go, so should all other murderers in the Assembly. What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
