Alliance the party for non-sectarian future

Published 22/04/2016

The right to vote has been hard-won, with some people dying for the privilege. It should be everyone's civic duty to use their vote.

In the present circumstances some may feel disillusioned by our current politicians. The Sinn Fein/DUP combination has been particularly ineffective.

But the many good people who do not vote are letting evil prevail when they do nothing. Instead of voting green (nationalist) or orange (unionist), why not vote yellow (Alliance), a party that stands for hope and reconciliation?

If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem. If you want change in society you have to start by changing yourself.

Putting British or Irish nationalism first is a form of idolatry and just perpetuates the problems. The two Alliance Party ministers, David Ford (Justice) and Stephen Farry (Employment and Learning), have probably been the most effective of all the ministers.

If you want more of the same you need to elect more Alliance Party MLAs.
