Amnesty failing duty in abortion debate

Published 28/10/2016

It beggars belief that an organisation like Amnesty International, which campaigns for human rights, cannot promote the most fundamental human right of all, namely the right to life.

As human life begins at conception, when we are genetically complete, Amnesty should support the right to life of the unborn child.

They should acknowledge the mother and unborn child have equal right to life.

By ignoring the rights of the child in the abortion debate here in Northern Ireland, they are failing in their duty truly to uphold the principle of human rights.
