Appeal over 'Cat Ripper' criminal
Despite a £5,000 reward offered by Peta and public pleas by Martin Clunes, James McVey and other celebrities, as far as we know there still appear to be no strong leads in the case of the 'Cat Ripper of Croydon', who is believed to be responsible for the gruesome killings of nearly 50 cats during the past two years.
That is why Peta is urging everyone always to keep their cats indoors and to report any suspected cases of cruelty to animals to the authorities.
It is vital that crimes against animals be taken seriously for the safety of the entire community.
Serial rapists and murderers routinely have histories of cruelty to animals. Peta hopes the police will do everything they can, including re-examining CCTV footage, to get this killer off the streets before his or her crimes escalate.
Until the Cat Ripper of Croydon is caught, no one is safe.
