Armada drawing far from accurate

Published 04/09/2015

I readily admit to being an irritating pedant, but does the artist responsible for the drawing attached to the Armada article (News, September 2) seriously think that the galleons of the Spanish Armada were manned by slaves pulling a bank of oars, who had rowed all the way from Spain and around the Irish coast?

Also, if it was meant to represent passage round the Irish coast, the ship would have been sailing in the opposite direction.
