The atheist ads for buses should have carried quotes
from the Bible. It’s a missed opportunity because the Bible, properly read and without the usual pious spin, is responsible for more atheism than any book ever written.
Isaac Asimov (1920-1992), the science-fiction author, referred to the Bible as “the most potent force for atheism ever conceived”.
The numerous quotes that reveal the often savage and contradictory character of God, esspecially in the Old Testament, has far more lasting effect on people than the British Humanist Association’s ad declaring: ‘There’s Probably No God’.
And those hypersensitive Christians, who seem to think that the world belongs to them, would be disagreeing with the source of the faith.
The ‘fool’ would not be the atheist.
