Atlas says Derry is situated in NI

Published 11/11/2010

With reference to your geographer-correspondent Martin Orr (Write Back, November 5), in response to William Robb (Write Back, November 3), I have to take issue with his knowledge.

I am also a keen geographer and, as such, I own an atlas. After consultation with my atlas, I'd like to point out that London is, indeed, in England, but Derry lies within Northern Ireland in the UK. Letterkenny, according to my atlas, is in the Republic of Ireland, across the border from Derry on the island of Ireland.
