Atrocities can never be in the name of Islam

I BELIEVE that, in spite of groups, such as al-Shabaab, using Islam as the reasoning for their atrocities, they will never change the religious beliefs of the millions of people who worship their own God within their own choice of religion.

The Koran actually says, at the start of each of the 114 chapters, "In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate".

Then later it states: "God is more loving and kinder than a mother to her dear child."

How do these terrorists reconcile their acts with those teachings?

I believe that these criminals have not really studied what the Prophet was trying to teach them, but have used isolated references within the Koran to fulfil their own bloodthirsty ambitions at the expense of innocent victims.
