Attwood is not the man to lead SDLP forward

When voters hear of Alex Attwood being the bookies' favourite for the SDLP leadership contest (News, November 1), it will seem that the SDLP hasn't learned from the difficulties that Margaret Ritchie presented for them.

Communication skills are paramount in a political party, especially at leadership level. There are to my mind, only two candidates who communicate well enough to be leader and they're both based in south Belfast.

I hope the SDLP won't make the same mistake again.
