Baffled by the DUP's pledge on agriculture
Having read the DUP manifesto, I must admit to being baffled by their pledge to leave the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
In the European Parliament, their representative, Diane Dodds, is most supportive of the CAP and talks in terms of "reforming" it after 2013.
Their recent idea of leaving the CAP is a great idea - and our farmers would welcome an end to the EU's demolition of our farming industry. But have they really thought this one through?
The DUP is incapable of implementing that policy because, in order to do so, we would have to leave the European Union - something they refuse to do.
