Beaco wrong on new Celtic boss

Published 12/06/2014

I WAS amazed by Steven Beacom's column (Sport, June 6) disparaging new Celtic manager Ronny Deila on account of his relative anonymity.

As a Liverpool fan, Steven would no doubt be aware that Reds fans en masse would have had a similar reaction to the appointment of Brendan Rodgers two years ago, but that one has worked out very well.

The vast majority of Celtic fans have already welcomed Deila's potential in preference to Roy Keane's unpredictability and unsteady temperament. If he turns out to be equally as successful as predecessor Neil Lennon he will be a household name in no time.
