Belfast City Airport car park price unjustifiable

Published 04/08/2015

GIVEN that the multi-storey car park at Ikea in Belfast was built with planning permission for the purpose of being a car park, how have planners a problem in that it is being used for that purpose?

Is this all about stifling competition and cushioning George Best Belfast City Airport?

How can the City Airport justify charging 40% more for a car parking space, which, unlike the Boal site, is not even under cover? How does this decision sit with EU competition laws? The City Airport is unlikely to give us credible answers any time soon. Perhaps our MLAs could see that the public are given a choice?
