J Montgomery (Write Back, October 16) states that if I allow myself to be crucified and then rise from the dead then he/she might pay some attention to my views on the Bible. Why would I have to do that just to have an opinion?

The Bible was written by men and not God. Just think though, if it had been written by God what a work of art it would be; no ambiguity, no anachronistic dictates and all details would be verifiable. Now that is something I could believe.
