Bemusement at the voice-over on Metro

I am a regular commuter on Translink's Metro service. A characteristic of Metro buses these days is the electronic voice-over informing passengers of the next stop.

The other day as we approached a certain stop/street, the voice announced the name differently than on previous occasions.

This time it spelt the name out, letter by letter, as "H-o-r-n-b-y Street", rather than simply "Hornby Street" and I wondered if there had been a complaint about the name in our increasingly politically correct environment. I cannot think why else the street name had to be broken down.
