In response to Mr Tom Robinson's letter (Write Back, September 27), I find it hard to believe that he thinks that the DUP would be happy working with Sinn Fein.
Sinn Fein were, and are, polar opposites of the DUP.
Would you really have expected those who were considered targets by the IRA to have welcomed them with open arms?
To suggest that the end justifies the means is flawed. What exactly was accomplished through 30 years of violence?
We have a Northern Ireland government, split along religious and cultural lines, and communities distrustful of the other side. Violence does not bring about peace and it is those who support such methods who are stuck in the time warp.
