Bible is an eyewitness account of history
In my final contribution to this very interesting exchange of views on the subject of the Bible v science, I would make two points.
The Bible contains a chronology of the Jewish people - the length of the reigns of their kings, as well as the ages of their ancestors.
These are historical records that have been borne out by archaeological exploration, often by people who started out not believing that the Bible was accurate.
Rocks and bones examined by archaeologists don't have dates on them. They are "dated" using man-made assumptions incapable of being verified by normal scientific processes.
If scientists rule out the possibility of a catastrophic worldwide flood, it is hardly surprising that they reach conclusions at odds with the eyewitness accounts of those who lived through it.
