Boston College tapes stance has me puzzled
The repeated assertions by Jim Dee (Comment, January 14) that the release of the Boston College tapes will damage the peace process puzzle me.
If those tapes hold evidence to identify and convict the cowardly terrorists behind the abduction and execution of Jean McConville, then Jim Dee and every other right-minded person should be demanding their release.
If, as a result of the evidence, a senior republican is convicted of this heinous crime and jailed for a lengthy period, then so be it.
Such an outcome would alleviate grievances felt by unionists over the skewed inquiry process.
