THE review by Terry Blain of the Belfast Festival concert with Jose Carreras in the Waterfront Hall (News, October 18) was totally at odds with the reaction of the audience and many people I have spoken to since. In their opinion, the concert was wonderful.
Anyone reading the review may have wondered why the reviewer chose not to record the four encores and three standing ovations.
We might be tempted to ask if it is a Northern Ireland trait to begrudge praise? Surely local audiences don't give standing ovations without reason?
