Christ's message is sadly missed

Listening to and reading some of the messages from our church and political leaders about the New Year, it is very clear that many of those tasked with the job of enlightening us about Christ's message simply haven't got a clue, choosing to deal in platitudes.

The lack of understanding of human beings is at the heart of the blindness in our society. We need to regain this understanding. Why would Jesus preach good news to the poor other than to remind them that they possess something that the rich don't - happiness, I suggest.

So maybe a good point to begin telling the truth about our society would be if we got rid of the influence of these wealthy people on our Churches and ethical political parties where, it must be admitted, they really should not have any significant influence at all.
