Come to show support for our brave troops

This Thursday, May 3, will be an opportunity for the people of Northern Ireland to come out and show their support for our brave Army personnel.

A homecoming parade, involving around 450 soldiers from the Mercian Regiment through Holywood town centre, will be a very proud day for everyone involved. I know many people are already looking forward to what will be a special day.

The gallantry and bravery of these heroes is to be commended and this parade will be a fitting tribute to these men and women, based at Palace Barracks, who have put themselves on the frontline in service to Queen and country in dangerous and challenging conditions.

I would encourage the people of Northern Ireland to come and show their support on Thursday (11am) for our heroes and make this a day that will never be forgotten.

GORDON DUNNE (DUP)

MLA for North Down
