Corbyn should show some support for NI

Published 22/08/2016

I wish to take issue with your report of the debate last weekend on the Labour leadership. As one of the 33 who did not vote for Corbyn, or Smith, it was not that I thought "the CLP should remain neutral".

Those who spoke and voted against what was on offer made it clear that their "neither of the above" was not a spoiled vote, or a request that the CLP remain neutral.

In my case, I would have no problem voting for Jeremy Corbyn, but my vote will be withheld until he appears at a hustings in Northern Ireland and supports the right of Northern Ireland members to stand for election in local government, Assembly and Westminster elections.
