Cyclists need better road skills

Could we please have a campaign to reclaim the pavements for pedestrians?

It is now common practice for cyclists to cycle mainly on the pavement, making pedestrians at risk of being knocked down.

Pavement cyclists are increasing in number and may be observed all times of the day, including Sundays when the volume of traffic is usually less.

Recently, a colleague was almost knocked down by a rear approaching cyclist at 6.30am when on her way to work in the city.

Having become more aware of the problem of pavement cyclists, I hope that the risks, real and potential, will be addressed sooner rather than later.
