Dakar Rally hero is a true inspiration

I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to one of Ulster's rally heroes who has just accomplished one of the world's toughest motorsport events, completing the Dakar Rally.

The bravery and commitment shown by Corporal Philip "Barney" Gillespie in undertaking this event is second to none and is a real inspiration to us all. Corporal Gillespie suffered an horrific injury while on active service, but in spite of his disability, he has achieved something remarkable.

People like this are true heroes and often don't get the recognition and credit they deserve.
