D'Arcy is way off mark over God

Published 03/02/2016

With breathtaking idiocy, Fr Brian D'Arcy states (News, February 1): "If there is not room for Terry Wogan in heaven, well then, the God I've been preaching is a way off."

There are three problems with his folly. Firstly, the "God" he preaches has no resemblance to scripture, anyway. Secondly, the salvation he espouses is likewise unknown in scripture. Works are the fruit of saving faith, not a pass to get into heaven. Neither he nor Wogan appear to have it.

Thirdly, since when do self-confessed atheists get into heaven? By the nature of their belief, there is neither God nor heaven. Such is D'Arcy's silliness.
