Don't be missing link on evolution science

Published 16/09/2016

Write Back is not really the place to explain scientific theories, so I refer Martin D Stern (Write Back, September 13) to an open and comprehensive university website instead: Berkeley University's Understanding Evolution at http:// evolution.berkeley.edu/ evolibrary/home.php.

Both microevolution and macroevolution observably function from the same four basic mechanisms of change: mutation, migration, genetic drift and natural selection. Speciation - branching, or splitting, of a species - is also explained in some depth there.
