Stopping MLAs and MPs from double-jobbing in council chambers would definitely be progress, but there is a startling contradiction at the heart of the policy which Alex Attwood outlined.
The SDLP Environment minister's own party leader, Alasdair McDonnell, is still double-jobbing at Westminster and at Stormont.
He must persuade his party boss to quit one role. Remove the beam from the SDLP's eye before considering other motes.
